Our monthly tabbed pages are made from 120gsm (or 80lb) paper, and all other pages are 100gsm (or 65lb).
If gsm and lb don’t mean much to you, here’s a real-world comparison:
-
Standard printer paper is usually around 75–90gsm.
-
Our 100gsm/65lb inserts feel sturdier than printer paper, more like the smooth pages in a premium notebook.
-
Our 120gsm/80lb tabbed pages are thicker still, similar to nice stationery or letterhead, durable but still flexible (not stiff like a greeting card).
How does it work with pens?
We’ve done plenty of pen tests, and the only pen that consistently shows through is a Sharpie marker (and sometimes a fountain pen or highlighter, if you’re really going to town with the ink, it might peek through).
-
Fountain Pens: Our 120gsm tabbed paper works beautifully with most fountain pens. The thinner inserts may show slight bleed-through depending on nib size and ink (especially with wet inks or broad nibs), but results vary.
