Our academic planners are designed for anyone who prefers their planner to follow the U.S. school year—including educators, parents, and families who plan around the school calendar rather than the calendar year.
When do academic planners launch?
Our 2026–2027 Academic Collection launches on May 13 at 10 am ET, with a preview going live on May 1 at 10 am ET.
Our Coming Soon preview is now live, so you can explore the full collection, compare layouts, and start planning ahead.
We release our academic collection each spring to give teachers, students, and families plenty of time to prepare for the school year.
Looking for a different launch timeline? You can find all upcoming releases our releases page.
What makes a planner part of the academic collection?
The only difference is the dates. Our academic planners run from July through June to align with the typical U.S. school year.
The layouts, features, and how you use the planner all stay the same, so you can choose your favorite layout and simply pick the date range that fits your schedule.
What dates do academic planners cover?
Our academic planners follow the traditional U.S. school year and are dated from July through June. Date ranges are always listed on the product page at the time of release.
Which planners are part of the academic collection?
The academic collection includes the following layouts:
The Scout, The Anne, The Nancy, The Rose, The Jo, The Kristy, The Carmen, The Valerie, and The Luna
Is The Valerie available now?
The Valerie is part of our 2026–2027 Academic Collection.
You can preview it now in our Coming Soon collection, and it will be available to shop when the collection launches on May 13 at 10 am ET.
If you’re looking for something sooner, some educators choose to use one of our other layouts and customize it with our teacher inserts, depending on what works best for their planning needs. We have a blog post that highlights how educators use our layouts, and we also offer teacher inserts such as block planning and lesson planning inserts.
Why doesn’t The Valerie include teacher-specific pages?
The Valerie was originally designed with educators in mind, but over time we saw it being used in so many different ways by so many different people.
To reflect that, we updated the notes section to include the same core pages you’ll find in our other planners, like yearly trackers, checklists, grid, and dot pages. This keeps things flexible and easy to use, no matter what you’re planning.
If you’re a teacher and need those specialized pages, they’re still available as inserts and booster packs. That way, you can build a setup that works just right for your classroom and your planning style.
Why is The Kristy only available in a Monday start?
For this academic collection, The Kristy is available in a Monday start so we can introduce her newest update with intention. Each month now includes two dot grid pages, giving you extra space to plan, brain dump, and hold everything that doesn’t fit anywhere else.
Focusing on one start option allows us to gather feedback and see how this update supports your planning. Both Monday and Sunday start options will return in our 2027 Dated Planner Collection.
Is The Mae planner returning?
The Mae is taking a short break for this academic launch as we introduce updates to similar layouts and gather feedback.
She will return with our 2027 Dated Planner Collection, with both Monday and Sunday start options available.
