We finally did it, friends.
If you’ve been waiting for us to make a discbound planner… this is it.
We wanted to bring the flexibility of discs into the layouts you already love, without adding extra steps or making it feel complicated.
Everything comes pre-punched, so you can open it up and start planning right away. Then tweak, move, and build as you go.
Already a disc user? You’ll feel right at home. New here? We’ve got you.
What makes our discbound system different?
We kept everything you love about disc planning and made it easier to jump into.
No punching. No setup overwhelm.
Just your favorite Laurel Denise layouts, ready to go, with the option to customize whenever you want.

Planner details
Undated, so you can start anytime
Start when you’re ready.
Skip a week. Pause for a month. Come back without wasting a single page.
Layouts you already love
Scout, Anne, and Nancy are all here, now in a disc format.
We’re also introducing Luna in Large, if you prefer that layout.
If you already have a favorite, you can keep using it, just with more flexibility built in.
Discs and sizing
You can absolutely use discs you already own.
If you’re starting fresh and want to use our discs:
- 1.25" is great for a lighter, everyday setup
- 2" gives you more room to grow and add inserts
Covers
Covers are sold separately.
They’ll be available in the same patterns as our academic collection, just with fewer options.
We’ll share those during the preview… and yes, more are coming this fall.
Inserts and extras
This is where things get fun.
Add inserts. Move them around. Keep it minimal or build it out.
There’s no right way to set it up.
FAQs
Can I mix layouts or build my own system?
Yes… with a couple small notes.
Nancy and Anne can be mixed together.
Scout and Luna can also be mixed together.
Each of those pairings is designed to work together, so you’ll want to keep them within those groupings when building your planner.
Will you be adding more layouts later?
We’re starting with our most-loved layouts to begin with.
If you all love them in this format, we’d absolutely look at expanding the lineup in the future.
Will these be available in both small and large?
Yes, for most layouts.
Scout, Anne, and Nancy come in both sizes, and Luna will be available in Large.
Do I need a disc punch?
Nope.
Everything is pre-punched, so you can start using it right away.
And just to say it clearly, we aren’t making disc punches at this time.
Will you offer discs in different colors?
We’ll have one color option available for launch.
That said, you’re more than welcome to use discs you already have if you have a favorite.
Can I use a disc punch to add my own pages?
Yes, you can.
There are disc punches that work with standard disc spacing, which should be compatible with this system.
We’re not able to recommend specific brands here, but our private Facebook group is a great place to see what others in the community are using.
Will other brand discs work with Laurel Denise inserts and covers?
Yes.
Our pages are pre-punched to work with standard disc systems, so you can use discs you already own if you’d like.
I already have discs. Should I use plastic or metal?
Totally up to you.
Both will work with our system, so it really comes down to your personal preference.
Will building my planner this way cost more than a ready-made planner?
Because this is a customizable system, the total depends on how you build it.
Some people keep it really simple. Others like to add more inserts and extras.
The goal is to give you flexibility so you can choose what works for you.
Will pages stay in place?
Yep.
They’re secure enough for everyday use, but still easy to move when you want to switch things up.
Just pull gently from the edge when removing pages.
We’ll also have a quick YouTube tutorial to walk you through it.
I already have a lot of inserts. Can I use them in this planner?
If your inserts are designed for standard disc systems, they should work.
We recommend checking the hole spacing to be sure they align well with your discs.
A quick note if you’re new to discs
If you’ve never used a disc system before, it’s simpler than it looks.
Pages pop in and out, so you can move things around without damaging anything.
Start by placing your top and bottom discs first, then add the middle discs.
This helps stabilize everything as you build your planner.
No tools needed.
Also, quietly… it’s kind of a dream if you’re left-handed. No spirals or wires getting in the way.
How many pages should I insert at a time?
We recommend inserting a few pages at a time, usually around 3–6 pages depending on paper thickness.
This helps keep pages from bending and makes the process smoother.
Will the pages tear easily?
Our pages are designed for regular use with discs.
As with any disc system, gently removing pages from the edge will help keep them in great shape over time.
Do the inserts have a protective coating like your current inserts?
We’ll share more details on materials closer to launch.
As always, we design our products to hold up to everyday planning.
Is this the right fit for you?
This system works really well if you:
- Want more flexibility in your planning
- Like customizing your setup
- Use inserts, notes, or trackers
- Want your planner to shift with your schedule
You might prefer spiral or wire-o binding if you:
- Like everything fixed in place
- Don’t plan to move pages around
- Want something more structured
